Someone Else

Yesterday I met someone who I ended up telling about uncrowned_king's death.

He then told me about going to bed with his beloved wife six years ago and waking up the next morning to find her dead beside him. No one was ever able to identify a cause of death. She was just gone. He too has remained alive because of his children. He is still wearing his wedding ring.

We looked at each other with a degree of mutual understanding and empathy I've never shared with anyone else about my grief.

I cannot imagine what I would do if my husband were lost to me, so I cannot begin to imagine how that must have affected you. Still, having recently lost both my Mom and Dad, I can relate in some small way. I know how those kind of moments can help so much, and I'm glad you were blessed with such a moment.

Thank you.

My condolences on the loss of your parents. I'm very close to mine and know how hard it's going to be when they pass.

*nods* It's a fellowship of a sort. I've had those moments of mutual recognition with fellow PSs. (Parents of stillborns.)

There is something healing about sharing with someone who has been there.
