Yesterday morning I went into the kitchen and stepped in a bit of water. It was seeping out from under a couple of boxes of recycling, so I thought it was simply excess moisture from the containers. I put a towel down, took Wolfling off on a jaunt, and forgot about it.

This morning I went into my kitchen and foud a distinct pool of water in the same place.

When the weather got hot, I found out that the ice maker in my freezer didn't work. The head of maintenance came by and discovered that the water source had been turned off at the wall. He turned it on, told me to toss the first few sets of ice that came out -- or to call him if the ice maker still didn't work and he'd get it fixed immediately. No ice was forthcoming. I called and left a message for him, and never heard back.

I'm assuming the water in my kitchen is the result of the faulty ice maker.

Fortunately, my phone call to the office a little while ago resulted in the immediate dispatch of a maintenance guy, and he is now working on the problem.

I really, really did not expect to have to deal with even minor flooding in my third floor apartment!!

Maintenance Guy (scratching his head): I've never seen anything like this. We just put in a brand new valve and a brand-new ice maker, and it still doesn't work. The ice maker cycles, but the valve doesn't open. It tries a few times and then just stops. The only thing I can think of is that they sent us bad parts. We're going to go out and get some new parts and see if that works.

Me: Well. . . I have weird karma around water. . .

Maintenance Guy: In 17 years I have never had this much trouble with an ice maker!

This is why they still sell ice trays in supermarkets. ;-) Hope they figure out something soon. It's too hot not to have ice.

Hmmm. Sounds as though your water issues are improving but not fully resolved yet! ;)

Have I ever told you about the copier that developed a physically impossible problem and had to be exorcised? (Yes, it's relevant. Sort of.)

I find it interesting that this water problem has emerged at the same time I've been dealing with a lot of sexuality-based processing and new experiences.

As for your possessed copier, I don't remember the story.

Very good point about the sexual stuff. *g*

I probably didn't tell you about the copier; it doesn't come up often. It's an example of how inanimate objects can pick up vibes from their environment and need to have said vibes cleaned out in order to work properly again.

Short form (so I don't write a teal deer): copier at work developed problems that nobody could find or fix. District manager, regional manager, West Coast manager, the tip-top repairman in the country; nobody. JM, who worked there, had the sense that Something Was Going On, energetically speaking. He built a blasting trident of Paracelsus out of an old tin cookie sheet, and zapped the machine with it to clear away gunky energies. The next day the tip-top repairman showed up unannounced with a bee in his bonnet about finding the problem, took the entire copier apart, and found that toner had gotten *through an intact seal* into a place it should be physically impossible for toner to get. It had never happened before in the history of Kodak. That stray toner was causing the problem.

The same day, the rationalist atheist coworker who had used that machine daily tendered her resignation. She refused to believe in magic, but she had been standing at that machine for 40 hours a week hating her job. Our working guess is that she hexed the machine. It never malfunctioned again after she left (nor had it malfunctioned before her arrival).

Not sayin' you've got that going on, because I doubt you're hating or hexing anything, but the ice maker may have picked up on some frazzled water energies and be expressing them. If the repairs don't work, try banishing over it. ;)

Great story!

I'll keep an eye on things. . .
